About the author… As a social worker for a public agency I had the opportunity to observe the human condition and learned to appreciate the many differences in people which helped them prevail over bad circumstances. These observations served me well when I decided to concentrate writing about fictional characters in historical periods. The struggle against unknown dangers during a period of rugged individualism and the westward expansion of America captured my imagination and so Trains to Concordia and A Train to Nowhere were born.
What educators have to say:
Trains to Concordia is a truly wonderful tale that brings to life pieces of American history in a delightful story that my students and I enjoy reading each year. It is a classroom treasure. We look forward to adding its sequel, A Train to Nowhere to our classroom curriculum. Patty Mispagel, Literature Teacher, Holy Spirit School
